REQUIREMENTS

The Alton Graham Miller, Jr. Scholarship
$500 Annually

Application Deadline: May 15, 2024

Requirements:

  • The applicant plans on attending a two or four-year college or university

  • The applicant plans on pursuing a field of study in the arts including but not limited to:

    • graphic design

    • painting

    • drawing

    • sculpting

    • ceramics

    • game design

    • digital media

    • music

  • Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, coach, advisor or other such individual

  • Official copy of a high school transcript

  • Evidence of either community service or extracurricular school activities (preferred but not required)

  • The applicant submits an essay in which the following is addressed:

    In 300 - 500 words, please describe the profound impact that art has had on your life thus far. ALSO, reflect on the role that art currently plays in your daily experiences. Finally, articulate how you envision art shaping your future endeavors and career aspirations. As best you can, please share your passion, your dreams, and your vision for the transformative power of creativity in your life and in the world around you.
